C APPLEBY

Starting out as an amateur jockey, Charlie Appleby was appointed as a Godolphin trainer in July 2013, after 15 years working for Sheikh Mohammed. Later that year, Appleby saddled his first Group 1 winner when Outstrip won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Tuef at Santa Anita. His first UK Group 1 winner came in 2014 with Charming Thought at Newmarket, celebrating his first Royal Ascot winner in 2015 with Space Age in the King George V Stakes. Appleby has trailed Group 1 winners all around the world and in 2018 was crowned Champion Trainer at the Dubai World Cup. Appleby divides his time between Marmoom stables in Dubai and Moulton Paddocks in Newmarket, UK.
