DAMIAN LANE

Growing up in Western Australia, Damian Lane is just one part of a great history of WA riders to further their careers over East. Lured to Victoria by Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra, his first major result came with the win of Trust In A Gust in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in 2014. In 2017, Lane partnered Humidor to win the Group 1 Australian Cup at Flemington as well as the Australian Derby on Jon Snow, really stamping himself among the leading riders in the country. While his biggest domestic feat came from guiding Kiamichi home in the 2019 Golden Slipper, Lane would gain international recognition with a Japanese contract and in doing so took out a Takarazuka Kinen and Victoria Mile while there.
